The Bubba’s Back
President Clinton was on The Hill breaking arms of the Democratic Senators. He, like President Obama, showed nothing but utter contempt for the American people who weren’t faithful lapdogs:
“The point I want to make is: Just pass the bill, even if it’s not exactly what you want,” Clinton told Democrats. “The reason the tea-baggers are so inflamed is because we are winning.”
Thanks, Bubba. It’s nice to see that you have the very same disdain for the American people and the Constitution that our current President has.
Our Fearless Leaders are out of control with expanding their powers and not a day goes by where it doesn’t seem like they are in full attack mode on the freedoms of Americans and the Constitution itself. The government will eventually get itself to the point where every aspect of the lives of American citizens will be regulated.
I believe that the next step is for the individual states to back the country from these madmen. The most obvious way to do so would be to call a Constitutional Convention, invoke Article Five of the Constitution, like was done in 1933 to pass the 21st Amendment, which revoked the 18th Amendment (the Prohibition of alcohol) and begin rescinding some of the madness that has been going on for decades.
Article Five reads:
“The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths thereof, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress”
Any law that doesn’t have its foundation in the Constitution should be tossed. That in itself would give us back our freedoms as was intended by the founders of the country and would immediately and drastically limit the powers of the government to wreak havoc upon the American public.
A few months ago, a popular phrase was, “Hit the reset button,” which I believe came from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who had the first attempt at foisting DeathCare on the American public, speaking about our relationship with Russia.
Well, this would be a good one to hit.
That being said, I would be shocked if it actually happened. The state legislatures are filled with with…well, politicians. The same ilk that fills the halls of the Capitol and the White House, only with less money from lobbyists and less power and motivation to do the right thing for their constituents.
So here we are at the bottom of the mud puddle, with the government hell-bent on Orwellian control of its subjects while wildly spending money we don’t have in what can only be interpreted as a full blown kamikaze run on the economy of the nation.
I, probably like many of you, are left to watch with a morbid fascination normally reserved for particularly gruesome automobile wrecks or building fires…wondering if or when the rescue teams will show up.
We can watch and wait, but in the end it’s up to us to save ourselves.
We will fight with all we have against every single enemy of our country or Constitution, be they foreign or domestic.
